The Eleventh Hour - Carla Reisert & John Harris
Carla Reisert and John Harris come from very different musical places, but when they first played together in 2016 it was obvious their musical paths were headed in the same direction. Carla had already developed a reputation as a soulful singer of blues and r&b with a powerful voice and musical chops to match. John came from a classical background, playing french horn in orchestras in Mexico and the U.S., but never moving too far away from his love for the guitar’s deep repertoire from Brazilian choro to Piedmont Blues.
But they were both ready for something new, and out of that hunger came The Eleventh Hour. Their music includes everything from John and Carla’s originals, which reach into territory like funk, blues, Americana and rock, to a wide variety of America’s greatest music fromjazz standards and country ballads to singer-songwriters and rhythm and blues. In the end, it’s all about great songs, and Carla’s powerful vocals and incredible musicianship are supported by John’s unique guitar style and harmony vocals.
Carla and John often perform as a duo, but sometimes only a band will do, and the Eleventh Hour is lucky to be joined by some truly outstanding players like Bill Heuglin on bass, Brian Cronin on drums, and Ellie Miller on violin.
Special thanks to Lou Tingle for providing the majority of the photos on this site. Carla and John are indebted to Lou (not to mention incredibly grateful) for allowing them to use his outstanding work.
